Tony Khan Assists Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts with Critical Aid
As Hurricane Helene devastated parts of the southeastern United States in September 2024, many lives continue to be impacted across multiple states, including Georgia, the Carolinas, and Alabama. Relief efforts are ongoing; one stepping up to help from the world of professional wrestling is Tony Khan, President of All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
During a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, Adam Copeland (formerly known as Edge in WWE) revealed how Tony Khan generously contributed to relief efforts in Asheville, NC. Copeland praised Khan for sending Starlink devices to the Asheville Police Department, enabling them to communicate with drones to help locate missing individuals affected by the storm.
Tony Khan Steps Up for Asheville
Copeland explained that the mountainous terrain in Asheville made larger communication systems difficult, but Tony Khan stepped in with smaller, more agile Starlink devices, perfect for the local geography. "They needed some stealth Starlinks, and I reached out to Tony Khan, and guess who came through." Copeland shared, noting Khan's quick response and willingness to help.
The AEW President's involvement didn't stop there. In addition to the Starlink devices, Tony Khan reportedly made a $10,000 donation to a GoFundMe campaign set up by AEW star Cash Wheeler (one half of the tag team, FTR), who is also from the Asheville area.
Tony Khan's Continued Generosity
Tony Khan's efforts didn't just impact Asheville; they also sparked conversations across the wrestling world. Fans and wrestlers alike have praised Khan for going beyond his duties as AEW President, showing that he's committed to making a difference where it counts most. With AEW Dynamite continuing to grow in viewership, fans were quick to rally around Tony Khan and his efforts in assisting communities affected by Hurricane Helene.
