Chelsea Green Wins Inaugural WWE Women's United States Championship
Former Tough Enough contestant wins first-ever WWE Women's US Championship
Chelsea Green made history this past week at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event by defeating Michin and becoming the first-ever Women's United States Champion.
Green, a 10-year pro who made her pro wrestling debut in 2014, first appeared on WWE television that same year during a segment on Monday Night Raw with Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella, playing the part of Daniel Bryan's Physical Therapist.
In 2015, Green became a contestant on Season 6 of WWE Tough Enough under her real name, placing fourth place.
WWE Contract Signing
After attending WWE tryouts in 2018, Green signed her first developmental deal with the company, starting at the WWE Performance Center.
Chelsea Green would make her WWE debut during an NXT live event, on October 26, 2018.
WWE Women's United States Championship
Not only did Green make history by winning the inaugural WWE Women's US Championship, but her husband, Matt Cardona, also known as Zack Ryder, also held WWE United States Championship gold, making them the first husband and wife to do so.
Cardona has since declared himself 1/2 of the WWE Women's United States Champion after celebrating Chelsea's win at Disneyland the day after on Instagram.
