Iconic Championship rumoured to return at WWE Saturday Night Main Event
On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, just days before the return of WWE Saturday Night Main Event to NBC, live from the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque tweeted out a teaser alongside Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to the WWE Universe.
The video shows Levesque and Rhodes standing in front of a sealed case, which The American Nightmare opens to a blinding gold light after being told “one night only” by Triple H.
Speculation about why fans think this could mean the return of the prestigious WWE Winged Eagle Belt stems from numerous interviews and podcasts this past year, in which Cody Rhodes has expressed not only his interest but also his active effort to bring back the classic championship title design.

Saturday Night’s Main Event is this Saturday, Dec. 14, LIVE NATIONWIDE AT 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT on NBC and simulcast on Peacock at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, N.Y., the site of the first-ever Saturday Night’s Main Event.
